New opportunity just dropped: I’m hiring a Senior Software Engineer II to join our team at Splice!

In this fully-remote role you’ll have an opportunity for significant impact. You’ll define and drive the next phase of our backend services. You will advocate for system designs and APIs that make “The right thing, the easy thing.” You will drive solutions that are both technically and organizationally scalable.

PM me if I can answer any questions.

There are familiar themes including “shifting left" in the design/delivery process, Work-As-Imagined versus Work-As-Done, why newfound organizational capacity is reliably consumed, and unintentional yet predictable consequences of technical change.

How it started: I’m enjoying this paper. I should writeup a summary.

How it’s going: battling JS and documenting a shortcode for embedding Apache ECharts on Hugo static sites.

How it finished up…

For anyone interested in embedding Apache ECharts on a static Hugo site: https://mweagle.net/posts/2024/10/echart-shortcode/

An Apache ECharts Sankey flow example of Todd Conklin’s 5 Principles of Human Performance.

Why? At this point I’ve spent too much time fighting syntax and various levels of escaping to remember. But it seemed like it might be fun when I started.
