Good point. Agree there are times when it makes sense to do business elsewhere, but the reflexive “lock-in” gambit prevents those deeper conversations from happening. And they definitely need to.

I wouldn’t say its failed, but incentives still don’t often align and we’re missing a decision framework to realign them. Error budgets can help, but that’s already assuming a fair amount of DevOp-iness has happened IMO.

Just because “you” can, doesn’t mean “you” should.
