Yep. Iām a big CloudFormation supporter. Iād argue that the minimal viable JSON to a useful āserviceā is pretty large and brittle, but that should drive templating/composable JSON rather than bypassing CloudFormation. Push the complexity to the left.

Need to learn more, but AFAIU itās providing higher level abstractions for a single AWS service. CloudFormation has traditionally treated every service equally. Like the idea of transforms though - would prefer that to be generic āapplyTransformā (eg, XSLTish) rather than 1 svc.
