Agree - it’s pure usefulness and center of org. gravity makes it hard to fully replicate in some other service.

That’s sort of how I view picking a vendor though. Pick one, use it for everything possible & good...and have some semblance of a plan in case the world shifts 😀

k - for extracted infra plan I’d be concerned that “annotations” of some form would be required to provide service-specific params.

I want one representation in which team members with different perspectives & skills can collaborate on the shared service.

Use the language’s built-in composition facilities to enable that.

The intermediate result is declarative as an impl. detail, but not what people edit.

That back in the day an application could be built via a higher level language like VB to orchestrate lower level COM components that were (often) written in C++.

IMO, an EC2 instance with a union of IAM privileges isn’t fundamentally different than an API-G proxy route with the same.
