Word. From an engineering perspective I think evolutionary architecture (https://www.thoughtworks.com/radar/techniques/architectural-fitness-function) is a way to make that actionable. Start with: “what’s our fitness function?”

If it’s not clear what we’re optimizing, it’s going to be tempting to conflate outputs and outcomes.
